THE CCBD FOUNDATION PRACTITIONER SUPPORT PROGRAM

The CCBD Foundation Practitioner Support Program is pleased to recognize professionals who apply their knowledge and skills to improve the academic, social, emotional, and community outcomes for children and youth with behavioral disorders. Each year the CCBD Foundation will award up to $500 to help one or more applicants implement a high quality practice or program in an educational setting that directly serves these students.

Completed applications can be sent at any time. Accumulated applications are reviewed twice annually, beginning in July and January. Completed applications are reviewed by at least three CCBD members, including practicing teachers and/or teacher educators. They will be rated using the following criteria:

  1. Program meets documented need
  2. Plan is complete and reasonable
  3. Practitioner is qualified
  4. Documented support for project
  5. Budget is appropriate
  6. Plan to share is reasonable
Please Note: The Practitioner Support grants are intended specifically for educators who are actively working within schools (i.e., teachers, instructional assistants, or administrators who work with children or youth with behavioral disorders), and will not be awarded to projects whose primary purpose is research or graduate study. The proposed practice or program must represent best practice, and must pose no potential harm to children, their families, and/or the professionals who serve them.

Winners must agree to provide a brief written summary of their program to the Foundation. This summary may be printed in CCBD publications. CCBDF reserves the right to offer only partial or no funding in a given year.
